Many people today are thinking about white teeth. Why so? Because the color of our teeth can affect whether or not we smile, our self esteem and our appearance.
Because we are a society that consumes a lot of coffee and other drinks and food that stain our teeth, it’s not surprising that we don’t have white teeth. And why should that make a difference?
Take smiling for instance. If we are self conscious about the color of our teeth, in all likely hood we are not going to smile as often or at all. And smiling is important for our day to day association with others.
When we are not smiling, we look somber, perhaps even unhappy or angry. Also we can make others uncomfortable because they don’t know what mood we are in. Our self esteem can suffer because we don’t feel good about our appearance. And a beautiful smile can completely transform our appearance.
When I think of beautiful smiles, I think of Julia Roberts. She is not what I would call a beautiful woman. She is attractive and a pretty woman. But when Julia Roberts smiles, the whole place lights up because she smiles even with her eyes. She has a beautiful smile because it is genuine, she has white teeth and they are good looking. She has the perfect celebrity smile.
As a society, we are very conscious of our looks. People are even judged on their looks. More attractive people are more to be cultivated as friends or hired for a job. This is not a fair way of judging people, but it is reality.
So what can the average person do to be more attractive and more acceptable? Many are taking a closer look at their teeth and how they affect their smile and their looks. And one thing they are considering is using a teeth whitening product because they want a beautiful smile.
Well, there are dozens of these teeth whitening products on the market. How does one choose what they will try? Getting information about teeth whitening products will help. Some have to be used at a dentist’s office and others can be used at home.
Many of the products have Carbamide Peroxide and Xylitol as part of their ingredients. Carbamide Peroxide is the major teeth whitening component and the results can depend on how high a concentration of this component is in the product. Xylitol helps the teeth build a defense against cavities strengthening dental health and can lessen the number of visits to the dentist’s office.
Today, when searching content on Google, I ran across a review that Dr. Oz and his staff had done in connection with testing Teeth Whitening Systems sold online. They tested 24 different systems over a seven month period but only came up with three that they recommended because of the more than acceptable whitening of the products. These are:
1. Idol White
2. Alta White
3. Dazzle White
Dr. Oz and his staff found that most of the products sold online were simply ineffective and did not give the user the promised results. However, they were surprised with the results of the top three.
Idol White by Kim Kardashian was rated #1 in whitening teeth and, apparently, is used by many celebrities for that reason. They found that teeth were eight shades whiter after using Idol White. It also polishes as it whitens.
Alta White was a very close second whitening teeth seven shades whiter.
Dazzle White was a close third, whitening by 5.8 shades. It also has slower whitening results compared to the other two.
With all three products, there was also a very noticeable improvement in dental health due to high concentrations of Xylitol in the products. Also, the testers didn’t notice a single side effect which adds to the safety factor and none of the participants complained of sensitivity.
When I was doing my research, I was surprised to note that some of the other teeth whitening products worked with some people, but they said that it was painful, some even said “very painful”. This was not a problem with the three products listed above.
The reviewers also recommended using BOTH Idol White and Alta white. Even though Idol White is the best of the two, apparently it may not reach all the teeth surfaces and Alta White does. So they said that using both would give even better results than using just one.
The bottom line is, if you are considering teeth whiteners you need to determine several things:
1. Do you want a dentist to do this for you. Many dentists do get great results. However, this could be expensive and even uncomfortable depending on the system.
2. Would you rather be able to get whiter teeth at home. This could be less expensive but not as effective. And with so many different products out there, which one will you choose.
3. How much are you willing to pay for whiter teeth and a beautiful smile.
